Early Years Program (Pre-K and Kindergarten)
At Schutz, we value and respect each individual child as unique, strong, rich in potential and capable of constructing knowledge.
Children experience the world through their families, friendships, communities, cultures, and travels, bringing these rich experiences with them to school each day. At Schutz, our Early Years program embraces a Personalized Learning approach, recognizing that every child learns, grows, and develops in unique ways.
Working alongside caring and collaborative educators, children engage in meaningful explorations driven by their interests, questions, and natural curiosity. Our program for children ages 2–6 values play, relationships, and discovery as essential foundations for learning. Through individualized learning experiences, children are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, develop confidence, and build the skills needed to become lifelong learners.
Children learn through inquiry, hands-on experiences, and purposeful interactions in a safe and nurturing environment both indoors and outdoors. They are supported in expressing their ideas and making meaning through a variety of experiences, including movement, art, mathematics, dramatic play, building, storytelling, music, and sensory exploration. These opportunities foster creativity, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
By honoring each child’s strengths, interests, and developmental needs, our Early Years program builds a strong academic, social, and emotional foundation that prepares students for success in elementary school and beyond.
